And predictably, the orange one thinks the only way to comment on this is
to threaten tariffs.
Can he not think of any other contribution to such an event?

I guess it beats a military action. Sigh.

Trump has only two settings: grab credit or apportion blame.

Since there is no part of the Canadian wildfires for which he can claim any kind of credit, he looks to attach blame.

Remember, his infantile “mind” cannot grasp anything about climate science.

It's the idiots that he's emboldened that fall into line
behind him and parrot his stupidity...and worse, that has
me just about fed up with the US. That such foolishness
and idiocy can be embraced by so many, so readily has
fundamentally altered my thinking on ever visiting or
supporting the US in any way ever again, and that's the
mind-set of many, many Canadians.

Talking with a Canadian friend the other day, and he mentioned that in his youth, when the notion of the Province of Alberta leaving Confederation and becoming a state was mentioned, he kinda liked the idea.

That was pre-Watergate, pre-Vietnam America, when the land south of the Forty-ninth Parallel was still largely perceived innocent and pure.

More on the news about Trump imposing punitive tariffs on Canada.

He really doesn’t understand how tariffs work, does he?

I think he might have some dim idea as to the reality of
tariffs, but he counts on his cult *not* having that.

He's like the Queen of Hearts yelling "Off with their heads" at every opportunity, but he just sounds ridiculous and ineffective.
