I'm not seeing Tuska or Colletta there. I'm sort of seeing Dan Spiegle, but I'm not sure who it is!

I'm going to send this piece to Paul Kupperberg. He's good at recognition.

This is what Kupps had to say: "I can see Spiegle in the aircraft and some of the feathering, but the figures in panel 1 are sort'a Glanzman-ish,while the kid's face in panel 3 looks Schaffenberger. I'm stumped, but I get an overall vibe of Charlton Comics off the art."

All in all, I'd still vote for Spiegle, based on the aircraft, the huts, and the shading/drapery in panel 3.

He's right about it being Charlton. JB do have any idea what the code is for
in the upper left corner of panel two?
This is from a story about the battle of Wake Island in Fightin' Marines.

Dan Spiegle!--got a feeling that is a good call JB. The prominent face in the first panel gave me a Tuska vibe, but you are right, the aircraft really looks like Spiegle.

Man, I used to be good at this.

The thing about claiming it's Dan Spiegle is that there appears to be no easily available info on Dan doing any work for Charlton. While that's by no means saying he didn't work on the page, it just means that it doesn't look like there's any additional info or verification on the page by looking into Dan Spiegle's bibliography...

Although... Dan is still with us and doing great art. You could always try and ask him!
