And regarding the Spider-Man/Doc Ock/ Goblin illo:

JR Jr just gets better and better. He almost single-handedly grants Marvel whatever credibility they have left. That picture harkens back to the great old days of Spider-Man and I love how solid the figures look -- Spidey's foot, for example, looks like a very convincing 3-d object -- but he keeps the artwork fluid and loose in just the right places. The guy knows what he's doing, bless his little cotton socks.

It is hard to beat a Hickok original. Even I don't have one of those.

Paul, what size is the Romita JR commission? Absolutely fantastic.

Thanks, Michael. He did the piece as a double page spread. It is roughly 22x17.

Great Paul Ryan piece, Dave.  I always thought Paul was underrated.

My second shitty art purchase in row.  My newest sketch takes a week to ship, costs half of what I was charged to mail, then I get it wrapped in a Priority envelope, inside a plastic file folder with a paper file folder for ballast.  NOT the way to treat a Walt Simonson original!

I'm surprised there's only a small bend in the middle and the corners have some level of rolling. Could have been a lot worse, but COME ON!  Who does this?

The offending materials.  I'll be over it once/if I can get it flattened out.  An email has been sent to the seller, I'll wait to see what they say before I give negative feeback.  Jim Warden would have a heart attack.
