Love it, Lloyd!

I remember reading that comic and seeing that page the first time back when it came out. That is one of my favorite JSA stories. I liked Staton and Layton together, they seemed to work together well on JSA stories. Beautiful page.

Man...I'm jealous!

When I see these kind of pages with a SOLD on them. I now mutter "Lloyd" in a tone much like Seinfeld's "NEWMAN"..

Hello - I am an art collector of "classic" Marvel and DC artists that I grew up reading in the Bronze Age, and just passed 40 pieces including sketches, commissions, and pages (although they are in a much smaller ballpark than some of the great stuff I see posted here).

I recently had Fred Hembeck create a new cover piece of the "missing" Marvel Treasury Edition #29 featuring 40 heroes and villains that pays tribute to many of Mr. Byrne's comics of that time period (as well as a few other artists). I am happy to post it, but was hoping that Mr. Byrne could see it.  I am not sure he frequents this thread and am hesitant to start a new thread on the forum that features artwork from another artist as it may be disrespectful.

If our host could indicate his preference, I will go ahead and share this very neat piece.

Thank you.

I just got this the other day. This brings back a ton of memories to me.
Especially growing up in a chinese household, these comics were read and
re-read till they were tattered. I found that I still have some of these....So
cool.

I think you're pretty safe to just post it right here in the good old New Artwork thread!

Joe, that Blood of the Demon cover is amazing.

Brian, I am extremely jealous of that Cockrum Nightcrawler page.

William, I was seriously thinking of getting that unused JB page. Glad it found the right home.

Bill, keep those autograph sketches coming! That Roberta Gregory is a hoot!

James, I hate you more with each passing piece you post here. ;)

Lloyd, your collection is filled with classic comics from my past. Thanks for sharing.

Everyone else keep on posting. Whew! See what I get for not posting for a few weeks.

Indeed.  Now we just have to keep those darn hobbits from getting the ring to Mt. Doom.

Paul, there's a interesting story connected to that sketch, mostly involving an inflatable prop that was being passed among a few SDCC artist's alley tables at the time, but I'll have to wait until I see you in person to tell it.
