I don't disagree, Mark.
My point was that all too often he succeeds in having the attention pointed towards whatever shiny bauble he puts out there for a distraction so that he doesn't have to answer to the scrutiny that should be consuming him.
I would rather consume information about what there is to stand for rather than continue with the endless outrage machine.

Chinese President Xi Jinping recently consolidated power. He’s now
president for life. President for life. And he’s great. I think it’s great. Maybe
we’ll give that a shot someday
******
If he’d just hurry up and die, his wish would come true.

Yes, if he’s serving fries at McDonalds.
Not when he’s openly declaring his obviously true intentions to rule America
forever, as if it were his own slice of Russia.

While Trump is a ‘Look over here so you don’t see what I’m doing over
there’ person, power is his motivation.
He does not want to give this job up.
I don’t think he will give this job up again.

He has said he admires people who will never give their positions of power
up. He’s said many times he should look at the two term limit.
He’s going to try to stay in power

Trump needs to stay in power because he might be going to prison once he's out of office. Can only pardon himself on federal charges.

(Pardon me if I already said that, but I'm not a morning person and haven't even been up an hour.)

While I held out hope that Trump would face some kind of justice for Jan 6, it’s become patently obvious that there is not the will to do so. After the terrible SCOTUS decision saying presidents can’t be prosecuted for things they do in office, I now have zero hope that he will ever face accountability for his evil, vile actions.  I think continuing to hold onto that decaying thread is pointless.

Mea culpa
To Ron’s point, there is a bigger story that Trump is distracting from.

The government admits they accidentally sent a Maryland father with
protected legal status to the El Salvador prison. This is an outrage that
should burn him down.

Whether or not the turd man defies the Constitution for a 3rd term, it is not
happening now.

The fire hose of bullshit is overwhelming. There are too many crises and
that’s on purpose.

But HOLY SHIT! A U.S. MAN PUT IN A CONCENTRATION CAMP WITH NO
DUE PROCESS AND NO PLAN TO GET HIM OUT.

AP story

Their claim is that while he shouldn’t have gone there, as they believe he is
involved in a gang, they are going to leave him there.
I’m not so sure this is actually a mistake in their eyes. I’m not so sure it
actually was a ‘mistake’ but was actually a calculated act.

And while on the subject of these press briefings, I am getting sick of
hearing the phrase, said in an oh so condescending manner by someone
who has the moral compass of an ‘I don’t know what’, that ‘It. is. a. fact’.

You just know that if that phrase leaves her mouth, we are about to hear a
lie.

They're not even hiding it now: Some moron Congresswoman tried to justify what's going on by quoting Joseph Goebbels.

Yes, lets just go quote Hitler's propaganda minister like its no big deal.

Seriously. She should have been told immediately to get up from her seat, walk out the door, and never come back.
