I would think that Wonder Man's brother (The Grim Reaper) would be the perfect fit as his arch-nemesis.

I think one of the main jobs of a creator/writer is to give a new character a good supporting cast and a good rogues gallery.  Without both those things, the series might soon be cancelled--and often are!

I feel like Stan Lee didn't give DAREDEVIL either--he saved all the good villains for Spider-Man and only gave DD a supporting cast of two.  DD's early villains were either borrowed from Spider-Man (Electro) or were Batman villains rip-offs (Owl/Penguin, Purple Man/Joker, Jester/Joker, Mr. Fear/Scarecrow).  I think Wally Wood "righted the ship" in his short time with a great redesign and some solid foes that gave the book a certain "feel," but it really took Frank Miller to "finish" Daredevil's back story, rogues gallery, and supporting cast.

On the other hand, during Stan Lee's tenure, SPIDER-MAN got a hundred good villains and 20 or 30 recognizable cast members!  And Spider-Man took off like a rocket, while DD always seemed "on the bubble" until Miller took over.  Likewise, David Michelinie and Bob Layton "finished" IRON MAN--again, years after his creation.
