The only "conspiracy theory" that I believe in is UFO/UAPsightings - and there are some stories and images thatsuggest some alien activity during the moon landings. Ireally want to beieve them, because I love the idea ofaliens checking us out as we try to get to the moon!••• Unfortunately, there’s no way our activities would be of any interest to beings who have conquered interstellar travel. Especially since we would be so utterly alien to them!

I got a kick out of a line from Neil deGrasse Tyson about aliens, where he pondered what would happen if they were plant-based, and discovered that our species considers their reproductive organs to be a delicacy we enjoy consuming. (You know, berries and nuts? Literally.)

When I hear of alien encounters I watch out for two things: humanoid beings and saucer shaped ships. Then I know they’re bunk.

I like the suggestion that the best response for Moon landing deniers is to out-crazy them.
"The moon landings were faked!"
(snorts) "You don't really believe there's a MOON, do you?"

Sitting on my terrace in the twilight yesterday, I was gazing at the Moon, slightly more than half there, and thinking once again of how the Bible tells us God created two great lights in the sky, one to rule over the day, the other the night.Skipping that the writers didn't know the Moon was not itself a light source, since it spends fully half its time out in daylight, I wondered how those same guys could have somehow missed this. Casts some doubt on other things they have to say.

I fear we would be of interest to them in the same way that the lives of ants and other insects are sometimes fascinating to us.

We take interest in the lifeforms that share this world with us for precisely that reason. We share the planet. We can actually learn from studying ants. But, as I have said, extraterrestrials would be utterly alien. Nothing in common.

There's certainly no reason to expect physical echoes between extraterrestrials and us, but I do believe that all living things in the universe share commonalities, predominantly relating to our biological compulsions to endure.
Also, much as we will need to do if we actually expect to exist long enough to figure out how to explore and understand the reality we live in, I would assume that any advanced extraterrestrial species exists within an ecosystem in which some kind of balance or harmony would've needed to be achieved in order for them to have avoided any hypothetical "great filter."
I think those two things are integral to all life everywhere, not just here. But beyond that, any commonalities would most certainly be coincidental.

Aliens will have means whereby they can perceive and manipulate their environments. Whether those are eyes and hands remains to be seen.

Oof. That's just a step further than the Flat-Earthers. You keep saying that enough, you'll end up starting a cult of No-Mooners!

Vinny, people have enjoyed wild success selling crazy ideas to the gullible. See the “birds aren’t real” faux conspiracy theory as a more recent example, or if you’d like something from the last century, Scientology.
