Thanks, Al, I voted.  Not that it'll do me any good, but you never know.

I don't collect anything Wonder Woman, but if I did, I'd get that statue.  Beautiful face.

Unfortunately, I've already have the Bishoujo Wonder Woman on order, but that is a really nice version of her (I like the belt on this one better than the "belly-button" one on the Kotobukiya version)

HLJ has put both the Bishoujo Supergirl and Invisible Woman up for pre-order [Link]

These are getting really pricey due to the yen / dollar exchange sucking right now...  Might be better to wait until they're available from the States-side shops.

Hmm.  Last year's Bishoujo's were 1/8 scale, and this year's are 1/7...

Something I call "The AURORA Effect". When I was a kid, I collected the Aurora monster models. Toward the end of the series, the bases started getting more and more elaborate -- and the figures got smaller and smaller. I used to assume it was because they had a set amount of plastic they were allowed to use on each kit.

Bishoujo bases are MUCH more elaborate lately, than the simple geometric forms they started out with (and which I much preferred).

That bust would make a decent anti-smoking ad.

Too bad that Red Skull isn't in an SS uniform. The Red Skull
in my mind will always be Hitler's right-hand and enforcer.
Otherwise,I'd buy one for my shelf.

••

It's worth noting that the SS style uniform is a fairly recent addition. Kirby usually drew the Skull in a one-piece jumpsuit with a big swastika on the chest, or in a lounging robe with cravat, as seen in this sculpt.

When Roger Stern and I were doing Captain America we planned to put the Skull into an SS style uniform, and our decision was considered quite "controversial", since it was a radical departure from his usual wardrobe.
