That's how Batman should look when he's in action. His face looks focused and serious, but not enraged and/or constipated as he is sometimes drawn in recent years.

As you all can tell, I'm new to this site. I've been a comics fan for a great long while (since '74). I stopped buying titles sometime in the 90s and have gone strictly TPBs for my reading pleasure and comics fix.

Anyway, I've found this forum site and am discovering all the eye candy scans of Byrne's work. I just want to say - WOW, Mr. Byrne you still have it. There are other comic artists I've followed for years and have seen their style change over time. And a lot of the time the change isn't for the better. Their style seems tired and uninspired or just plain rushed.

Not so with you work, John Byrne. Your comissions are GORGEOUS and the pencil scans I've seen - Doom Patrol, in particular - Wow, just wow!

The modern superhero comics nowadays just don't 'do it' for me anymore, but I may have to pick up your run of Doom Patrol. It looks good.

Thanks for still going strong!

~john

(Ok, I get the guy in the corner is a Sontarian from Dr. Who. Can't quite make out what the other character is supposed to be, unless it's an original creation...)

Daniel, the other character is an alien from Alpha Centauri who appeared in two Jon Pertwee "Doctor Who" stories, "The Curse of Peladon" and "The Monster of Peladon". Not exactly one of the show's best aliens, but still fondly remembered by the kid in me.

Here is a cool 3 page sequence from Alpha Flight 12 that I own.  Sorry it's so small, that's as big as I could get and still be within the specified pixel size.

Tony: what most have been doing like that is turning it on it's side.

I love that panel set though, very nice catch.

Ah! What a nice set of AF artwork. I need to dig those issues up again and relive the fun. The Shaman bag incident was so creepy, yet justifyingly pleasant to behold.

Thanks for sharing the images!

I'd appreciate it if someone could help me find a particular JB image. I believe that it was first on the old Magnus boards, so I'm not sure if it ever made the transition.

It's the image of the Hulk leaping in the air from early on in Incredible Hulk #314. It's also featured in the artwork of the Hulk's OHOTMU Deluxe Edition entry. I can't seem to find it on Google. If anyone could help me out I'd very much appreciate it.
