Thanks, Gerry. Something about it just made me curious. Hopefully JB knows more about it.

What's with the torn edge on that Power Girl sketch? Why/when was it torn?

Don't know, Nathan.  Jim didn't say.  Where did you get your scan?  Looks like the page took a bit of a beating since then.

The corner is missing because I had to write down a
phone number and address and grabbed any ol'
scrap of paper that happened to be on my drawing
board. Then I tore it off so I could put it in my pocket
and take it with me.

The Cap/Bucky and Batman pieces look very old.
From the signature alone I would guess early 70s,
pre-pro days.

No wonder it took me so long to get work!!

That Batman pencil sketch, with the cape covering the symbol reminded me
of the single thing I liked about the Tim Burton costume, the way the ellipse
was put over the cloak.

Thanks for the info, JB.  I figured it was something like that and had a Halle Berry joke at the ready.  First thing in the morning, I'm overnighting a notepad to Jim to forward to you.

Don't be so hard on yourself, JB! Those 2 pieces look better than most of what's on the comic shop shelves now by the so-called "hot artists!"

edited to rephrase. The first attempt could have been misconstrued.

My first introduction to the Byrne/Austin team was when I purchased Uncanny X-Men 126 off of the stands during the late 70s early 80s and was impressed by the art and the stories. I was hooked from then on. Luckily I was able to obtain this grail piece:

and noticed this on the back.
