They are the pencils of the Phoenix plate from the french portfolio. All the
pencils were shown at the back of the envelope of the portfolio.

Bud LaRosa is selling his collection of artwork including this beauty:

You'll find the auction here. In it, you'll find a bigger image
which I can't download for the archives of this site.

This is a sample of the collection of originals of a friend. I asked him
permission to post all of them, but till he gives green light, I'll post this one
which was also included in the Modern Masters volume (one of my
favourites!)

In spite of my insistence, he still has no gallery at CAF. A pity, because he
has awesome pieces...

This is the Phoenix plate. This image is bigger than the one that I posted
before. BTW, the original of it was sold at illustrationhouse.com by 17k.

So do I! While I wait for his approval, allow me to post these images.

According the owner of the originals, Constant Ng,
"In the 80s, hot off his success on DC's "Legends", Byrne was slated to
revitalize Captain Marvel. Legions of fans decried what they perceived as
major revisions and under this pressure, the project was aborted. This
piece of Mary Marvel and it's companion piece, an image of Captain
Marvel, are the only two pieces to my knowledge ever produced before
the series was sadly aborted".

He bought both pieces from Jim Warden
