Eric Ladd, you are my current favorite inker! I like it where the inks add something as well as bringing out and preserving the underlying quality pencils. I'd think working from the breakdowns or layouts of a solid pro would be the most fun!

Eric Jansen, you are my favorite portraitist of Manley Wade Wellman. :^)

I was going to tackle another Marvel hero on my lwish list of characters Funko needs to make a Pop of, but someone on my Marvel Funko FB community page suggested this character which I was all for...especially if a 10" version is made of him!

Thanks for the kind words, Rebecca.

Here are a couple of pages I inked from the old Venom miniseries pencilled by Mark Bagley.

I was looking for some Alan Davis pencils for inking practice and stumbled upon a nice Paul Pelletier commission in Fred Chamberland's CAF gallery.

Inking still scares the s#it outta me.  I’ve never ever been comfortable doing it either by pen/brush and ink or digitally.

There is an inherent danger knowing whatever line you lay down is basically permanent. Usually, as I get close to finishing a page the anxiety turns way up. The fear of dragging my hand through wet ink goes up to 11.

HA!  Thats all well and good....and understandable with conventional inking.  I still afraid to do it DIGITALLY! 😂

It’s some kind of mental block I need to overcome.  And just practice, practice, practice.  I recently “inked” one of JB’s Elsewhen pages and it turned out pretty good.  But I agonized over every line in a way I don’t do when I’m just drawing.

My admiration for good inkers has gone way up in the past few years.
