The figure is great here.  Good dynamics.  But the perspective of the trees is wonky, especially on the near shore.

Another trick I've learned with water is that it's often best to draw it darker and indicate the surface splashes with white.

Don't let my comments discourage because I think your addition of the background makes this feel like more of a complete illustration.

Who?

Sketched this of a fella in a wheelchair while waiting at an airport gate.  Felt rather pretentious of me, but oh well...beats staring at a phone-screen.

Still hoping to one day get control of half-tones via hatch-density.

Thanks Paul.  It's the Strathmore Toned Tan paper and the white both a PrismaColor white pencil and a Gelly Roll in a few places.

The golden tone the image picked up was the old incandescent bulbs in my Dad's house I turned on to photograph the page last night.  I liked it, so didn't adjust it digitally. 

Usually I take drawings outside, into the shade, to snap a pic so there's often more blue.  Sometimes I hit the "de-saturate" button in GIMP if it's too much, sometimes not.
