Lots o fun inking this page. John Byrne has a great sense of sound effect words (unless the 'Skuch-Skuch' was NOT supposed to make me feel slightly queasy).

Mark, I like the "smoke" effect you have with the digital inks. The white over the black has an interesting looks, but gets close to looking like Wolverine is being attacked by Venom. Did you do page one of issue three? I wonder what that splash would look like if you approached the evil Storm the same way. Also, since you are working digitally, you might be zooming in too close for some of your line work. That tear in Wolverine's mask on panel 4 is so finely detailed that it would never make it to the printed page, but I guess that brings up the point that we aren't really doing these pages for publication. I'm still amazed by what is achievable digitally. Try getting even thinner with your speed lines to help separate them from figures and other lines.

Paul, your page looks dark, but that might just be the scan. Your backgrounds are getting very good. The figure work is solid as well. I wonder if you can find even thinner line weights. Are you adding your white digitally? The highlights on some of your metal surfaces are so perfect.

Here is my latest page. I think I need to do a pass with white ink to make a few more elements separated.

Thank Mark, Eric!  I actually slightly darken the page in Paint Shop pre-post because I find that if I don't, much of the finer lines tend to disappear. We all know how much different in quality our pages look when we have to lower the resolution for post.
Much appreciate the compliments, Eric, I use a fine point white-out pen for the line highlights. With your page- I can also see the more you ink, the better it gets! The last panel reminds me a bit of Art Adams inks.

Paul, are you using a white jel pen? I ran across a video of someone using one, but haven't gone down to the office supply to buy one to try out. I'm still using white ink with a brush, but getting it to flow is a challenge.

Eric (first, please don't be mad at me for misspelling your name in previous post- sorry about that! I've already corrected it), I am using a regular Bic white-out pen (ball point). If I get too aggressive with it, I just correct ink it again. These pens are great and very accurate.

Don't worry yourself about the misspelling. Much thanks for the tip about the pen.

Eric, again, thanks for the feedback! Regarding how I rendered the smoke, I agree it turned out kind of Venom-like.  I was just following the pencil lines for the most part, while trying to go after a Terry Austin look to my strokes, funny enough.  However, when I saw the results, I liked where it was going, with the idea that maybe the smoke was slightly tangible. I thought the rendering captured that.

So far, I have done all of this with the technical pen brush in procreate, under the inking tools. If anyone has used Procreate and has a different brush to use, let me know.

Hello everyone,

JB’s pencils have inspired me to try my hand at inking on my
iPad/Procreate. I saw in a Wolverine commission post he may have at
one time used Pitt Artist Pens by Faber-Castell.

That said, does anyone know where I might download Procreate
brushes which simulate these pens? Years ago I ran into brush files
which simulated Koinoor Rapidograph...

Thanks for your time,

AD

Ardel, I don't use digital tools for inking, but I have seen this website for brushes: https://www.truegrittexturesupply.com

Eric,

Thanks for the suggestion. Looks like a fun site for resources. I’ll give it
a try and see how it goes.
