Y'know, I always had a a preference for the Hulk in trunks. Banner's infinitely elastic pants just never, ever seemed to make sense -- especially since the model was to have so much loose cloth in folds and hanging tatters. And now, with the movie model applied, and the Hulk getting bigger and bigger and bigger, those pants seem even more silly.

Those interested can now find my review of X-Men Forever #4 on various boards.
Best issue so far. Very good art by Tom Grummett. The best I've seen by him. And an homage to an iconic Byrne panel at the bottom of a page.
Claremont also does an excellent job. Very entertaining issue.

I understand your point, but somehow the trunks don't look as good as the ripped pants to me. I remember seeing your art for the Hulk in the trunks and it took some getting used to. It's kind of like the Thing, I've seen several variations of his uniform, but the only one that looks right to my eye is Ben in the trunks. Funny how we can get so attached to just one version of a character.

I always prefered the Hulk in trousers... probably because it was the version I was introduced to when I started reading comics. It could work back in the days when the Hulk was slightly bigger than a normal person, nowadays is getting ridiculous because the Hulk is the size of a small building. Take a look at that cover. You could fit 3 Banners just in the Hulk's arm.

This is where what might be called the Carved In Stone Syndrome starts to show itself. When the Hulk first appeared, it was strictly artistic license that made him gigantic on covers. Inside, he was huge, but still "managable". He could fit thru normal sized doors, for instance. Heck, he could ride on commercial airliners! But as Marvel got bigger, their characters got "bigger" -- literally so in the case of the Hulk. But the purple pants -- and Gods save anyone who suggested they be anything other than purple!* -- had become an unshakable part of the mythos. Better than naked, I suppose!
* At one time, someone even suggested it was a burst of gamma radiation released by the transformation that turned anything Banner was wearing purple!!

T'would give "the Hulk" name an entirely different, um, thrust.
I like the smaller Hulk. He's already the strongest -- doesn't need to be the biggest too.

BTW, about knock-off characters, what ever happened to Thor Girl?
She's part of the ensemble cast of Avengers: The Initiative last time I checked, as part of the group of young heroes training to serve America.

I'm pretty sure that "Red Hulk" is a mutated Glenn Talbot, back from the dead after 25+ years. Another bad Jeph Loeb idea.
Agreed with JB on the Hulk's pants. Why do so many artists have trouble making "seven feet tall" look seven feet tall?

That Red Hulk drawing would look about ten times better if those veins on him weren't colored so differently from the rest of him. Or if they weren't included at all, come to think of it.

So... who is the arch-enemy of the Red Hulk? ...
The Green Skull?

I can't stand that Hulk cover. BTW, I see that Iron Man has to be in or on the cover of every Marvel comic.
Marvel has never been worse, IMHO.

Actually Stephane, it appears that it's a blue Abomination. A-Bomb. Rick Jones.
