Considering what just happened, you'd expect her to be calm?I was debating posting the last two pages together, today, even tho that lengthens your wait time for the next "issue". The scene IS perhaps best read as a whole, Okay---I'm gonna do it!!!

Double helping -- and a powerful ending. I read both pages before coming here, so was initially kind of thrown by Wallace's question. She faded away to nothing, for goodness sake, man! Then I realised he'd only seen the first page :)
Now we have something of answer as to Jean's intangibility in earlier issues.

What an absolutely outstanding rollercoaster ride this has been! Every prediction I make is wrong, yet the story still flows authentically and logically. The characters remain true to themselves throughout, something so many writers seem to have abandoned. This story now replaces Doomsday.1 as what I consider JB's best work!

This last page has been in my head a LONG time! Not all the way back to 1980, but close to a couple of decades. In fact, it was probably this that created the ghost of a whisper of what would become ELSEWHEN.What a relief to finally see it on paper and "published"!!
