Had to use a cane for the first 6 years after the strokes - not going to lie and say you get used to it. You don't. It's a pain in the ass to navigate.

Knowing that i need a hip replacement i am not looking

When I turned fifty (OOF!) this year, my friends got me a gag gift of a walking cane with a bicycle bell and a small liquor bottle attached to the shaft.

Yeah, I think it's 'round here somewhere still.
