I live in a district where polling place access is civilized, so my wife and I voted on Sunday and did a whole morning hike and lunch with it. The downside to early voting is that you've taken your one available genuine action and then you have a longer period to sit and stew without even that slight release to look forward to.
But since we live in NY-17 - one of three Congressional districts in the United States that went for Harris but still elected a Republican Representative (Mike Lawler), we get a lot of fun extra attention, much of it lousy. Speaker Johnson is in town today to do a joint press conference saying that the Justice Department was referring concerns about some mailers to the FBI: LINK
The pretext, of course, doesn't matter. But even in southern New York State, where voting has always been as easy to access as walking down the street, I now face the possibility of having my vote be compromised by a top-to-bottom corrupted Federal Government.

I'm in NY-24 (currently held by Claudia Tenney (R), who I have no use for), but I'm on the cusp of NY-21 where the true clownshow in Upstate New Yrok is being held. It's Elise Stefanik's district, and with her retiing/walking away, that leaves someone I'd consider a Center/Right-ish D running against Anthony Constantino, who resides out of district... and by that. I mean he's taken permanent residence right up Trump's ass. It's an otherwise solid Republican district by population that's currently considered 'in play' by pollsters because of Constantino's... antics. Google the guy if you're all about going down rabbit holes.

Vivek Ramaswamy was always a small, crawling thing, but he made a stunning leap into competing with Trump and Vance for the title of World's Biggest Piece Of Shit for his ad accusing Amy Acton of lying about being raped as a child, starring Acton's insane and evil mother herself.
It's not surprising Republicans think it's great. They despise Acton for enacting COVID lockdowns while celebrating Ramaswamy for making hos fortune with a fraudulent Alzheimer's drug.
It may well be Ramaswamy's audition to be Trump's running mate in 2028.
I took a serious dislike to the little shit when he ran for president. His ridiculous baldpadour doesn't fool anybody about his height or hairline, and raises as many serious questions about his judgement and honesty as everything else he has ever said.

I'm in DC and voted by mail. Sadly, of all the ballot initiatives, ours was about force-feeding Geese for pate.
The world's on fire

I got a pamphlet asking for my vote for a state Supreme Court judge for North Carolina a couple of days ago. I live in Tennessee.

So how about Michigan (former) Democrat Rep. Haley Stevens setting herself on fire by endorsing the Republican candidate for Senate? It seems to be motivated by personal pique for losing the primary and being uninvited from an event.
Despite the mainstream media reporting DEMOCRATS IN DISARRAY while social media blames Jews, it mostly resembles a personal crisis.
It will be interesting if there are consequences for Tuesday beyond entertainment value.

I'm not from Michigan but could probably see some shenanigans happening there (look out Detroit). Trump hates that city and might send feds there to shake things up in a very negative way.

Stevens has spectacularly destroyed any semblance of a political career going forward.
Tom Arnold tweeted:
"Haley Stevens is so batshit crazy, I'm surprised I haven't married her."
