I just got an email from IDW telling me of new releases this week and apparently issue 5 of a new SNAKE EYES series features contributions from Bjorn Heyn. Given that Rob Liefeld is the writer/penciller, I kinda doubted it. But, it’s also an official IDW email. Someone else using the name, maybe? Is that even allowed? To use someone else’s pseudonym?

It definitely couldn't be the same "Bjorn Heyn".
As JB noted in a past thread, here on this forum:
"Bjorn went back to Sweden, where he underwent gender reassignment and became Jenny Bohr."
Seriously, though, it's sad if someone is really using JB's pseudonym. That's like a musician using "Percy Thrillington" to record a new album, and it's not actually by Paul McCartney.

I looked at the page credited to Bjorn Heyn, and it’s definitely not the real thing.
Personally, I think it’s pretty shitty to use a somewhat known pseudonym of someone that’s VERY well known.

Absolutely no class, and a dumb idea as well.

Ranges very close to fraud, if anyone happens to buy the issue looking for my work.

I’ve sent an email to IDW to see if this can be sorted out.

I learn now it’s misspelled. Deliberately?

*******
I just checked my email and it sure is. It’s spelled “Hyne”. Obviously the misspelling worked.

I bet it was misspelled intentionally, to side-step any possible legal troubles, while still playing on the "lore" behind the name.
