"like a spoiled child"
So what convolutions between Phoenix and the 'child-like' Jean and adult jean do we have here?

Stunning! What an opening. Everything a new reader needs to know succinctly shown/described - with the expressive body language filling in the blanks. I am in awe of your talents.

Genius and impactful page! I am also fascinated by the perspective line layout and how it translates to creating the image.

Love the footnote - well, love the whole page but the footnote is a nice touch.

Another masterful page. Scott and Jean are stealing the show. Yesterday was instant classic kiss...today reminds me both Muir's Pretty woman trick and the New Mexico take-off...
My name is Scott, she is Jean, this is our story.

I'm really loving Cyclops on these first two pages. Don't know why but he looks fantastic! Terrific art, JB, and I love how this "new" Phoenix is playing out. I guess the alchemy of Real Jean + Phoenix is not what anyone imagined (except JB, of course).

There’s an element that seems to have eluded most of you—which is good! Don’t want the twists and turns to be TOO obvious!(Not an invitation to speculation!)

Can't speculate even if I was allowed - totally confounded by this turn of events. It is fun and interesting though. Very curious what happens next with this version of Phoenix/Jean. Great job hiding the twists and turns.

There is something that is both nostalgic and fresh about these pages. It really takes me back to when UCXM was new, and the stories and character seemed to have a wild life of their own.
Your spells are working Master Byrne!
