I’m from the Bay Area, so our avocado egg rolls are about as crazy as it gets, but my town has several farmers and ranchers, and there was a restaurant downtown serving bull testicles not too long ago. They’re off the menu now. ••• Prairie oysters!

The northwest coast is a world of smoked salmon! Nanaimo bars for desert.
In Alaska an allergy to crab let me pass on something called pickled crab tails, but to each their own.
There was a very good Canadian country group named Prairie Oyster, gonna pass on the real item though.

Off the top of my head I think the weirdest delicacies I've tasted are fried scorpion and snake blood shots, both in Thailand (what a place!)
(Sigh)... to be young and adventurous.

I had a cow's head at a restaurant in China once. Complete head with horns and eyeballs. It actually was quite tasty. I didn't eat the eyes though but they are usually classed as the best part.

I had to look up Cincinnati Chili and it's something I had as a kid here in Illinois. The local Big Boy restaurant served it and I loved it. I love Ohio style pizza as well.

I make Cincinnati Chili over noodles a few times a year, it's one of my daughters all time favorites.
Seems exclusivity or uniqueness is harder to come by in this day and age. When I was a youth "square pizza" was a treat, now it's called Detroit Style out of state. My Mom used to give me warm Vernors ginger ale when I was feeling under the weather, exclusive to this general area and bottled in Detroit at the time. Now I see Vernors in convenient stores across the country bottled by whomever has the rights to the formula.

Square style with just the crust, sauce and a thin layer of cheese that is cooked first and then toppings and a large amount of mozzarella added after.
I love St. Louis and Rhode Island style pizza, too.
Here in the Chicagoland area I think Italian Beef sandwiches are the most exotic food we are known for. Or at least that is exotic as I can stomach.

What, pray tell, makes a beef sandwich "Italian"?

Just remembered one. Superman Ice Cream. Not sure if it's made it's way out of SE MI since the seventies but if you haven't seen it look that up and tell me if your 10 year old eyes wouldn't widen to saucers! A mega treat we could get one.

Seasoning. And the type of roll the beef is put into.
We worked with this woman who had never heard of an Italian Beef and after eating one she said it was awful. Way too "Eye-talion"!
