The Stock Market has risen in response to Trumf’s survival. Makes me wonder if I should embrace hypocrisy and start investing in gun companies. (Too bad my former neighbor Bill Reuger died a few years back. I could have hit him up for some tips!)

seemed to offer him a position in his administration if he
dropped out and endorsed him.

I think it's a given that RFK Jr. is taking more from Trump than Biden. Enough people have gotten a look at him now to see that his policies align far more with the right than the left:
- three month federal abortion ban
- wants to kill existing carbon and green rules (making them instead profit incentives for companies) and turn energy infrastructure entirely over to the states*
- is equally isolationist to Trump yet also equally adversarial in stance with China**
- Totally conspiracy-minded with regards to COVID & vaccines, which seems to be the main attraction for most outside of the weird Kennedy Cult that arose within the Q/MAGA movement
I note that his Gaza position is even more pro-Israel than Biden's, which isn't that surprising, given his dad's assassination. He seems a little bit more chill on some social issues, as he's less beholden to the Christian right, but also largely conspiracy-minded so it's kind of a wash.
*Deregulation and balkanization of American energy infrastructure is such a wrong-headed thing. But Americans love deregulation. **I don't really see Trump's isolationist stance as being ACTUALLY isolationist. I think he really just means clearing out of Europe and NATO.

Biden already tried to speak to the family of the victim who was killed Saturday's rally.
"While the wife holds no ill-will towards Biden & does not blame him for what happened, she says that her husband, who was a devout Republican would not want her to speak w/ Biden."
Doesn't look like the convicted felon called the family yet.

Ran into it a few times with Gold Star families (once personally, other times assisting coworkers in the task). It's extremely awkward.

news story about how a million people in Gaza
had to flee their homes. His comment was
"They'll get over it. The Japanese did."

Nothing should amaze me, but I feel like I should be amazed by how obediently the media has partnered with Kennedy's grift. He was recruited to run for president by Steve Bannon and therefore Trump. His campaign managers have been caught on camera describing their master plan to win enough states to force the election into the House of Representative so that Trump can win. And here he is obsequiously apologizing to "President Trump" and calling Trump "the president." And for someone whose entire life is lies, he's a terrible liar, prone to making incoherent barking noises when challenged. Sick of this guy.

As someone else mentioned, any talk of it being staged is Alex Jones level conspiracy thinking. Without evidence, and so far I haven't seen any presented, the shooting being staged is, at best, just conjecture and at worst just an exercise in anomaly hunting.

Still waiting for the the official hospital report on how serious the injury was and why the bigly, tampon-like bandage he’s sporting is necessary.
Any word on him contacting the other victim/victim’s family?
