Just because its’ always fun to hear/see everyone’s thoughts, what are some dream collaborations/collaborators you would like to see? Some of mine -

Darwyn Cooke/John Buscema - Modesty Blaise (Art duties can shuffle between the two)

Stan Lee/Alex Toth - Spider-Man

Roger Stern/John Romita Jr. - Avengers

Kyle Baker/Jason Pearson - Black Panther (Art duties can shuffle between the two)

Roger Stern/John Byrne - Justice League. It happened, but I would like to see it again (^_^)

Paul Dini/Alex Toth/John Romita Sr. - The Spirit or The Black Widow (Art duties can shuffle)

Walter Simonson/Mike Mignola- Thor (Art duties can shuffle between the two)

Dwayne McDuffie/Bruce Timm - X-Men

Bill Mantlo/Arthur Adams -The Defenders

Matt Wagner/Bruce Timm/Sandford Greene/Jason Pearson - Daredevil (Art duties can shuffle)

Since Marvel poo-pooed my dream of Walt and JB on Thor, how about a
Walt/Byrne issue or two of RAGNAROK.

I wasn't aware of the potential Simonson/Byrne,Thor collaboration.  That would have been great.

It would have been sweet if JB had stayed on as writer of FF and been joined by John Romita Jr as artist, as I understand was being mooted at one point.  I know I would still have been disappointed that JB was no longer doing the art but JR JR would have been one hell of a 'consolation prize'!  At least we got to see them collaborate on 'Iron Man' a few years later for a short but oh so sweet run!

Also, I am not a violent person, but if I was ever put in front of the numbskull who said 'no' to the Simonson & Byrne collaboration on 'Thor', I think it would take a superhuman amount of willpower on my part to refrain from giving them a slap!

Random thought - If I had to pick an Image artist for JB to work with, I'd pick Mark Silvestri. He's the one out of the founders that had serious storytelling chops.

A few that immediately come to mind:

Paul Dini and Neal Adams on BATMAN
Doug Moench and Paul Gulacy on NICK FURY and/or BLACK WIDOW
Doug Moench and Rich Buckler on DOC SAVAGE
Steve Gerber and Frank Cho on SPIDER-WOMAN
Neil Gaiman and P. Craig Russell on DOCTOR STRANGE

And I would take these pairings as well:

Alan Moore and Neal Adams on SUPERMAN
James Robinson and Frank Cho on BATMAN
Walt Simonson and Terry Dodson on WONDER WOMAN
Chris Claremont and Jim Lee on FLASH
Jim Starlin and Alan Davis on GREEN LANTERN or LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES
Denny O'Neil and Neal Adams on GREEN ARROW
Steve Englehart and George Perez on JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA
Roy Thomas and John Buscema on HAWKMAN
Steve Gerber and Gene Colan on PHANTOM STRANGER

Is 'Terry Dodson' autocorrected 'Terry Austin'?

Some underused characters and the dream collaborators that might have built their brands:

METAL MEN by Bob Layton (and David Michelinie if they like)
CHALLENGERS OF THE UNKNOWN by Doug Moench and John Byrne
CAPTAIN MARVEL/SHAZAM by Roy Thomas, Rich Buckler, and Jerry Ordway
BLUE BEETLE by Len Wein and Jim Cheung
FREEDOM FIGHTERS by Len Wein and Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez
THE CREEPER by Alan Brennert and Neal Adams

BLADE by Marv Wolfman and Gene Colan
SON OF SATAN by Steve Gerber and Gene Colan
PALADIN by Doug Moench and Paul Gulacy
GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY (original team) by Jim Starlin (and Steve Gerber if they like)
WONDER MAN by David Michelinie and George Perez
STAR JAMMERS by Chris Claremont and Dave Cockrum
HERCULES by Len Wein and Dave Cockrum
