I’m fascinated by Midjourney and other AI art generators — they are improving a lot.

I tried the “in the style of …”  prompt and used “John Byrne” as the tag — the art definitely has a JB feel — if you put in Moebius or Alex Ross or Will Eisner you’ll get a very different look

I feel like if you use the prompt it’s really that artists work that we are seeing the results of —

I’m curious what you think of this JB — does it bother you?   The tech is getting so advanced that in 6 months it will be way ahead — I feel like someone could create a whole comic in your style (or worse, a junky low grade imitation)   On the other hand it is cool that you have such a body of work that the computer knows your style

I also worry that if there is a huge proliferation in AI generated art that the computers will just keep making copies and originally and real artists could suffer

Well the good news is the prompts “in the style of John Byrne” come out very cool!

When I see people doing my style I find it fascinating—and a little depressing—to see what they pick out as “me”.
