That is almost certainly true. And unfortunate. Maybe someone will figure out a way for us to show our thanks that wouldn't involve lawyers on the Disney side.
But I hope you know how much what you're giving us is treasured.

Just start a Patreon for a sketch-a-month --- all landscapes or tips on how to draw common objects.

No IP characters. Easy peasy. (wink)

Small tingle of sadness realizing we'll never get to see you draw Phoenix again except in flashbacks....

••

Wellllllllllll… Remember, we intended Phoenix to become a recurring villain.

***

Was that always the case though since you started on the X-Men title?  I recall reading some sort of interview at the time ("Phoenix: The Untold Story" perhaps?) stating that Jean's power boost as Phoenix was originally conceived of simply to raise her to a class/level of heroes like Thor, which granted still has its challenges in terms of how she would fit in to a team book, but I can't help but wonder if the Phoenix could have worked as a hero if all the "Dark Phoenix" and "cosmic entity possession" stuff hadn't been thrown into the mix.  Not that I'm complaining mind you, I too am really enjoying what you're doing with this whole Elsewhen book, especially the Jean / Phoenix developments.  I find this story far more compelling than what was actually done with (to) them back in the 80s (e.g. Madeline Pryor, X-Factor, Nathan Christopher Summers, etc.)

I have stated this more than once,  but it doesn't hurt to reaffirm it: Thanks for thd fun, JB! It seems to me that your enthusiasm for the characters and love for what you do comes through in each page. I spend time with each one of them marveling ovrr the artwork.
