Not that familiar with Iron Fist, but most images I've seen tend to show him one "iron fist" for some reason. A design choice?

Since Danny was fully capable of generating the iron fist with both hands, I suppose it fell to the choice of the artist, in the case of a pin-up, or story considerations. Presumably if both fists were energized, each would be only half as powerful as one alone.

He calls forth the "iron fist" by intense focus, when a supreme effort or extra power is needed. Because of that, it tended to be localized and of very short duration, time.  It's not like most heroes' powers that can be activated by simply a thought or always "on". Sort of like a karate guy focusing for that one hit with his hand to split a stack of boards.

Nice piece, JB.  Iron Fist really pops.

I will always remember Colleen Wing with long hair.  When I read the book back then, I used to think Colleen would be more believable as a girlfriend to Danny than Misty.

You, and the author of the copy on the cover of THIS issue:

Chris and I spent MONTHS build the relationship between Danny and Misty, and all our work was wiped away by a single line, written by someone who had nothing to do with the book!

Forever after, whenever we showed Danny and Misty being romantic, in would pour the mail. "Hey! What does Colleen have to say about THIS?!?"

sigh

Love it. Iron Fist is one of my all-time favorite characters and no one draws him half as cool as JB.

Iron Fist and Misty never looked better!

I really enjoy the energy around his fists playing with the border and all the little details in the background!

Nice!!  Your Iron Fist is fantastic, JB.

This is a fantastic montage - it's really amazing how you can keep the figures and background separate without using color.  Your black & white work is my favorite - be it commissions, OMAC, or reading your work on in the B&W "phonebook" editions.

I find it's commissions like this that help me understand what "line weight" is.

Great commission - referring back to your joke about the title, it reminds of when I saw Simon and Garfunkle in concert a couple of years ago and they joked that Paul had gotten top billing because they were listed in "alphabetical order".

I loved this duo. Something neat is how Luke is generally tougher, except for Danny's Iron Fist. And they had great chemistry.

I'd love to see JB do another Iron Fist story since his artistic ability has grown so much over the years.
