Interesting. Thanks. Gruenwald's name appears nowhere on that title page, not even in the editorial credits.

Archie Comics is always making changes in their reprints. Often they are pointless changes that wouldn't affect the story at all.
Another bad reprint was a nice color reprint of select issues of "SuperFriends" that came out in 2001. The first issue of the comic (pre-Ramona Fradon, who joined in issue 3) was a two-parter. Instead of printing both parts, they clumsily made a few changes, such as turning a frown on Wonder Dog's face into a grin, and abruptly ended a story mid-battle. It was incredibly sloppy.

The original TPB for DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN omitted pages. I specially recall a page with Thor being left out.

Brian: I have both the 1987 TPB printing & the original issues. The amount of Thor (one panel) is the same.

And how could I forget one of the most egregious errors ever? Legion of Super-Heroes 100 page Super Spectacular - Legion of the Damned. It reprinted Legion of Super-Heroes #s 123 and 124, and Legionnaires #s 78 and 79. And that's how DC released the book; part 1, then 3, then 2, then 4. If you start with part 1, then you have a 1 in 6 chance of getting it right. If you have someone working for you WHO CAN COUNT TO FOUR - even on their fingers - then you get it right.

I’ll check my copy tomorrow, Kevin. Odd, I just read mine again last year and vividly recall that page not being in it.

There was some kind of recurring curse on reprints of Wally Wood's outer space themed run on The Spirit... even just on things referencing it. Pages out of order printed I mean.

Slightly OT maybe, but I thought the repositioning of the Alpha Flight origin back-ups that ran in AF # 2-3 and # 5-11 in he omnibus somewhat curious, placing them in one chunk between the # 1 story and the main story from # 2.
Firstly, I had always assumed that their placement in monthlies was intentional. For example, Guardian's origin in # 2-3 sets up a sub-plot in the main story that runs through to the battled with Omega Flight # 11-12 and so on.
Secondly, if you are group them together why not have them at the beginning of the volume. The omnibus placement makes no sense at all.

This may be a dumb question that everybody else knows the answer to, but which story was that?

I loved how they would update pop culture references in Marvel Tales. Usually, there weren't many but sometimes it was pretty noticeable. In that first Green Goblin story, the movie producer, who couldn't look more 1964 if he were wearing a Goldwater button, suggests Tony Curtis should play Spider-Man, in a reprint from 82 or 83 they changed it to Tom Selleck. Okay. That works. Then later on when he wants Doris Day to sing "The Honey and the Hulk" it gets changed to Blondie.
Blondie was the 1982 equivalent of Doris Day?

You were right, Kevin. Obviously, my memory isn’t what it used to be.
