Used to know an actor in Chicago whose name was Richard Baird, and he refused to use “Dick”. Didn’t want to end up in the phonebook as “Baird, Dick”.

So, you're not the former MLB pitcher, then? ;)

My wife's maiden name is Brown. Sadly she has no relatives named Charlie or James.

I forgot I also went to community college (briefly; I ended up quitting) with a Jim Lee.

I have a less than common name (at least, spelling wise)...a number of years ago I found out that there was an art gallery in Los Angeles that has my name...sadly, I didn't get a chance to visit when I was in LA in 2016 and they have since closed....

It is my first name that always gives me grief.  When I relay my name to anyone, I am always "Marc with a C".

Mark Gruenwald disliked when anyone called him “Marcus”, even in jest. Ironic, then, that he had a fondness for lengthening character names, as when the OHOTMU entry for Smart Alec gave his real name as “Alexander”, even tho I intended it to be Alec as in Guiness.

I remembered something else. There's a St. Louis billionaire that shares my name, and I once received a lengthy, unsolicited letter to my GMail address that uses my name, obviously intended for him. It went on and on about how the fiancé of one his daughters was a gold digger and a phony, and it suggested he takes steps to end the engagement. Awkward.
