That's what I keep telling these extreme libertarian idiots. It can't just be up to everyone to decide. If some people keep it spreading, it affects the rest of us. Teaching from home stinks! I want to be back at school. So I want everyone to follow the rules so the kids can get back to school as soon as possible!

After yesterday’s conversation, I really have come to the conclusion that there is nothing that can be said to change/convince these people.
Full disclosure - both he & I are Christians, he left our church following a conversation on climate change. His anger @ me stepping back when he approached was that he took that as me being afraid to die & thus not being a Christian. Ditto his anger re vaccinations.
He didn’t answer me when I pointed out that I don’t go & find loaded guns to stand in front of.
But yes, to me the most horrific part of all this, is that he doesn’t care if he risks other people’s lives, because who cares if we die.
But in any event, he doesn’t believe it is true because the streets are not littered with dead bodies & it’s all a conspiracy by Bill Gates anyway.
There are a lot of people like this about, & we cannot change their minds. They believe every lie they are told, & they disbelieve the truth they are told.
I am waiting to see what happens now that churches are opening & we are starting to see mass gatherings. He was appalled that we had closed our church under lockdown. I do wonder if he is now going to some militant church that has been meeting in secret.

Luckily, he’s one crackpot that is not allowed to have a gun, as he lives in the U.K.

Will SOME of you stop complaining - remember, you said religious freedom meant he DIDN'T have to bake the damn cake!

Nope. That’s a business decision to me & not the same @ all.
That’s the same as a cinema reserving the right to refuse admission. No one complains about that.

13 sailors who had recovered from Covid 19 have tested positive again and have been removed from the USS Roosevelt. Obviously this bears lots of study, but it does cast doubt on the idea of herd immunity for this disease.

I read on Huffington Post, but I'm sure if you google it it should come up quite quickly.

Cinemas used to be able to refuse seating to a visible minority outside a colored only balcony. A gay couple being told to accept a different cake than offered to others is to me the exact same thing.

I live in a country with 1.2 million people. The Government took an aggressive approach to Covid from the 1st in country case in March with progressive steps closing borders, locking down non essential services etc. We had a total of 116 reported cases, 8 deaths. All other cases except one discharged and we are in a phased reopening of the economy with safety protocols in place. No new infections for about 3 weeks. I have been working from home for about 2 months.
So far not too bad. The lock downs do take a heavy financial toll but we may have been in a worse condition without them.
