As my mother used to say, Wallace, "Don't wish your life away!"

"Then be me!" Glad you re-used that line from your excised pages in FF 286, as it's a quality line/moment.

I really love this. If the Phoenix is a force of pure destruction, why would it have adopted Jean's personality? This is a great explanation of how that worked.

Also... guess there's no such thing as "Dark" Phoenix after all. Just the Phoenix.

Your faces (particularly Jean’s) in Elsewhen have been Amazing.  Details on the noses are paying off.  I usually like to avoid adding lines to define features in faces (unless I want to age the character).  But the added definition just cements the drawing without “aging” Jean.  Bravo!

Kirby’s Jean was really a very simple face, but there was a certain something happening there. Something that kinda got lost, until Neal Adams showed up.

When I’ve drawn Jean I’ve devoted considerable effort to capturing that certain something

Yes, yes, and yes!

Three of the greats, each getting it right in his own way. Thank you for caring enough to notice and try. Bravo.

Those little things like the double border to reflect events of the past to subtly cue the reader, then 'oblivion' and... we're back. Just superb

Jean is fortunate in this scenario, being rescued by her fellow X-Men. The FF and Avengers meant well, but.......

Back in the ol' JBF Reader's Club in ought-seven, we ran through the Fantastic Four issue where Jean is discovered. JB mused there that, perhaps, someday a special edition of that issue would be produced which reinstated the original art and writing as intended.

That sounded cool, at the time.

This is far cool-er! Bravo!
