If Namor is still Prince Namor, I know he didn't kiss the pod, but Jean still got awoken by a Prince! :^)

You've described the Phoenix as a "cancer" in the universe.
Do you have any thoughts as to why it would need/want a mortal host to inhabit?
Do you think that this has been an ongoing thing for a while?

As to why--focusing thru Jean's powers is a whole new kind of buzz for the Phoenix.

Trying to think of what new heroes Jean would be unfamiliar with. Like, she probably wouldn't know that Wonder Man is back from the dead, things like that. Not that it matters!
