JB: "The closest I came to Maddrox was Caucus, in DANGER UNLIMITED. Tho there he’d split into three with no intention of fusing them back together. (His problem would prove to be their shared intellect. The further apart they got, the more diminished their intelligence.)"
***
I think the relative limitations on Caucus' power makes him/them more interesting than the other takes on this type of power.
Excellent series!! One of my favorites.

Here's one that may generate some disappointment as we proceed with the actual storyline. . . .

Exciting! I will wait to see how this does/doesn't fits in with eager anticipation.
You are a master of your craft. Thank you.

I really love how you draw Kurt, especially his face. I remember years ago on your original run, that right before you left the book, that you had nailed the right look for him.

It really did take me until almost the last minute to get a handle on Nightcrawler. As I’ve say many times, altho he was a lot of fun to draw, I really didn’t think he belonged in the X-Men. He had too much going on, far more than the Xtra Ability of Stan’s original mandate. Consequently, he eluded me, until he and Wolverine took that trip to Canada, when I finally realized he was Daffy Duck to Logan’s Bugs Bunny.* ————— * Idiot Squad, feel free to misinterpret!

Logan and Kurt were a good team there. Fun to read. Sadly I don't recall others picking up on that - one deadly serious, one fun loving. Lots of other aspects too. A shame it took until the end of your run to find a 'voice' for Nightcrawler but I know I enjoyed your run then and am enjoying it now. Hopefully more Nightcrawler coming up soon as he shifts from subplot to main plot. At least it appears his storyline will shift that way, what actually happens only Byrne knows.

When you got this to work, told me you had really mastered Kurt.

Mr. Byrne, I'm afraid I didn't get the issue with your researching Nightcrawler's teleport limit when you read on. As far as I know, it was established as about two-thirds of a mile in one big 'port without exhausting himself. I would reckon that with further training, he could get to around a mile per bounce.
Or did I miss something obvious again?

I read beyond the teleportation info, and discovered the goulash that has been made of Kurt since I left him—including things I’d said NO to, back in the day.
