Once more, the United States returns to providing the world with the promise of inclusion, equality, respect, and security.

I admit to having felt a wave of relief when noon rolled around.

Whew, I had some happy tears while Vice President Harris was being sworn in. This slice of history is far overdue.

My wife and I have given our kids a day-off from school to celebrate with us. Many things make this feel like a day to mark for us.

I was blown away by the Inauguration.  Not only by the obvious historical moments nor the exit of a now former President I loathed, but by the smaller moments.  Amanda Gorman's poem was one of them.  It was powerful.  It rose to the moment without hate or division.  In five minutes, it encapsulated everything we as a nation have struggled with for so long and the promise of a new day to come.  Powerful almost seems like an understatement.

I think she succinctly identified what we need to be doing as a country. It's not about making America great again, it's about making America do better. To be better.

Best wishes! There can be hope again where for too long there wasn't. There is an adult capable of doing the job, and of listening and learning, where that also wasn't the case for way too long.
