Anyone shocked to discover that there never was a National Distribution Plan for the COVID vaccine by the Trump “administration”?
The level of incompetence and sheer f#ckery that went on in the WH for 4 years is disgusting. THERE. WAS. NO. VACCINATION. PLAN!

Imagine a press briefing where they don't bleat about high ratings or call the reporters names! :^)

Okay, I give in, I used the ignore thing, I think for the first time here. I feel kinda grubby about it but no point reading if someone can still credit the press with painting the previous president in a harsher light than it should have... I have no time for that at all!

I thought the inauguration was just wonderful - I am so glad they kept it outside and continued on despite the riot. Biden's speech was pitch perfect - although I voted for mitten superstar Bernie Sanders, Biden is the man for this time. Everything about Kamala Harris was wonderful - I loved her laugh when she was required to read her own transition into the Senate record.
Amanda Gordon was an instant smash - she even outshined the pop singers, and they all did a great job. I am so happy to see everyone talking about a young poet after the previous week's misery.
I was so delighted to see the TV coverage keep to images of the Capitol and the attendees throughout the entire day - it was a great TV event in this time of COVID. I even enjoyed the post speech ceremonies in the Capitol and the current and former presidents at Arlington National Cemetary.
I wasn't paying much attention to the evening concert hosted by Tom Hanks, but I am sure glad I stayed! It was magnificent - they used the Washington National Mall as a gigantic performance space - all brilliant staging solutions. I'm a huge Springsteen fan, so his opener was great for me and I suspected it would be the highlight. But it got even better and better, with stellar performances by John Legend, Demi Lovatto, and a fantastic "Firewor" finale from Katy Perry. Probably the best moment was a short talk between Clinton, Bush, and Obama -an informal and reassuring sight for our uncertain time.
I just wish Jimmy Carter could be there! The recent CNN doc JIMMY CARTER: ROCK AND ROLL PRESIDENT showed how music was so influential to him personally and for his campaign, so it would have been good to have him be part of this. It has been reported that he spoke to Biden on the eve of the inauguration.
I think the best aspect of the day was that the inauguration reclaimed the Capitol/National Mall in a celebration of unity. Having no crowds there was the only option for a pandemic, along with the terrorist threats. The way it was staged was a perfect solution for us to watch from home.

Biden's office has a Cesar Chavez bust right behind his desk - I am such a huge fan of Chavez, so I just love that he did that.
And he has a lot of other cool stuff, covered in this Washington Post story with some great pics:

Biden's story is kind of amazing. He's as unlikely a winning presidential candidate as any millionaire guy who used to be VP, which is never the head start people think it should be. Nearly everybody wrote him off. Obama wrote him off. I wrote him off. Conventional wisdom was if Biden had a chance at the presidency, it was 2016, and he missed his chance. And now he's president. The oldest president in history. And millions are grateful. Talk about being the man for the moment. Amazing.

I would say we'd still be screwed if HIM showed up, but I think one of his agents just got kicked out of office.....
And Fuzzy Lumpkins is the Senate Minority Leader.
