Off topic, but following up my last post I very much enjoyed Namor up to #25... enough to add #26-32 onto my 'list', though not entirely into Jae Lee's style. As someone who once had a '40s Namora #1 (still have a b&w photocopy I made from it), I wish there'd been letters on Namor #19 & 20, but whoever was in charge of the letters pages had some major snafu and I don't think there was one response to that story printed. One thing about Elsewhen... lots of reactions only a click away! :^)
Best thoughts for a return to full strength!

I'd say the main Image people 'used' Marvel at least as much as Marvel 'used' them, so I never understood their claim to victimhood like I could better understand Kirby's (well, he was the co-creator of seemingly every other Marvel character compared to what... Cable? Carnage? Talon the cat-like Inhuman of the Guardians? I'll stack just Fin-Fang-Foom up against any of those, or even Bill Mantlo's Rocket Racoon for that matter, though there are probably Marvel creations of those guys I'm totally missing).
'Nuff said anyway.

In art study, I learned that a lot of drawing is really about being able to see what you look at.
Thinking of that, and an old Bob Dylan quote about Brian Wilson's one good ear-- he said: "Brian's ear belongs in the Smithsonian."
I'd like to send best wishes to John Byrne's eyes.

As first published there was nothing to get past the Code.
I drew Storm nekkid as a gag, and Terry laid on the zip to disguise this,
assuring all who were concerned that the crappy printing we had back then
would close up the screen.
Neither he, nor any of the rest of us, could guess that decades later the
page would be given much better printing!

I dug out the actual issue this afternoon. Terry knows his stuff. It was solid
black in the comic.

I don’t think it’s actually on display anymore. It’s a piece I did for Superman’s 50th anniversary. I believe it currently reposes in their archives.

Mr. Byrne,
I visited the Smithsonian in 1987 on a family vacation and was thrilled to find a nice Superman display. I have memories of a piece of your original artwork from an issue of Superman or Man of Steel on display - is this correct or a figment of my imagination?
