In a warehouse in Maryland.

••

It was a bit of a "D'oh!!" moment, realizing that being part of the Smithsonian's permanent collection did not mean actually being on display! At least, not beyond an initial few weeks.

I did the re-read of UXM 137 last night. That final scene with Scott and Jean
just hit me like it never has before. Truly masterful.

I also read that round table discussion in the PHOENIX book. Were all of you
really there together for that?

Yes, in one of the conference rooms at Marvel.

That's true. The good thing, though, is that they periodically rotate the displays and bring out treasures that hadn't been seen in a while. It wouldn't surprise me if Superman's 85th is celebrated next year.

Let me also express my wishes for a fast and full recovery, JB. My mom (who is quite a bit older than you) had similar surgery on her eyes and it did wonders for her.

I suppose I should remind everyone that once my eyes are properly back online and I’m working again, I’ll still want to take two or even three months to extend my lead time. So, no new pages until Summer.

Sorry!

As much as I love free art, that's really not the concern.  Heal up!

No worries, it's something wonderful to look forward to, JB!

A distinct advantage over the NOW NOW NOW attitude of too many modern fans.

Quality cannot be hurried. I could name (but won't) a handful of series/issues/covers back in the day where you could tell the art was not of the usual or expected quality for the particular art team involved. Seemed like the one thing in common between any of these instances was the EIC, rhymes with "scooter".

Oh the diabolical ideas that must be marinating in the noggin in the meantime!
There are worse things in the world than having your work in such high demand. The kind of problems you want to have :)  < id="protanopia"> < id="deuteranopia"> < id="tritanopia">
