One tree down. Not a big one, but it’s been pushed over twice since I’ve lived here, and each time I’ve done everything possible to save it. This time, tho, all the roots were stripped off!Extra annoyance, last time it toppled it bent the faux wrought iron fence next to it almost to the ground. I JUST got that replaced. Grrrrrrr!!!!!!!

I live in Oklahoma and on the news this morning they showed a convoy of a couple hundred linemen and equipment greaing up to head up to the northeast to help restore power.
If you have the ability with your provider make sure you report the outage. We had an outage a few months ago that was us and about 4 houses around it. We were the only people who reported it.

JB, was this storm the worst weather you've had in this home? It sounds like it was pretty ferocious.

Argh. That's happened to us here in Virginia once in a while too--a flicker as everything comes back up, then boom, no power again. Hope you get power back (and keep it) real soon.

At least the power coming back briefly hopefully proves people are working on this.

Have you considered getting a backup generator?

Yes. But they don’t hold enough power and if I got one now its warranty would likely expire before the next storm.
