Of course, but given that I'm jonesin' from not getting my fix (that's a compliment), and the topic came up, I figured it would fall in a similar category as when we acknowledge greats like Adams, Kane, Buscema and Aparo, just pointing the timeline in the other direction :)
Wow... never a good thing when Doom's figured out how to get around Sue's forcefield. He came prepared indeed!
But I wonder if even Doom could have planned in advance to have not just Nightcrawler and the FF against him but Spider-Man too. The wallcrawler has pulled off some real surprises against villains well above his "weight class."
Ahhh... Doom vs the Fantastic Four and Spider-Man. I nearly forget that this is an X-Men story, and that's a GOOD thing here!
Page 4 panel 1 - Doom imperius! This page should be required reading for ANYONE who dares to draw Dr. Doom. The perfect model sheet (and OH! How I wish there were a set of John Byrne model sheets! For a time, Mr. Byrne, you seemed to be the go-to artist for the corner headshots and what great days those were!
Doom may have been out to capture Nightcrawler and been prepared for the FF, but Spider-Man makes for a great wild card for the heroes! I'm loving this story!
