I am giddy with glee. There's just so much to love in all of this. The details are bonus treats... from a cyclist carrying his bike across the street, to civilians gaping out of high-rise windows, to a unicorn on a kid's bedroom wall ... so many little delectable bits to go along with the main courses.
I am completely invested. The waiting is the hardest part.
How is Young Jean possible? What's going on in Suburban Indiana? What's Doom want with Kurt?
I hope current creators are following this, taking notes, and applying them.
You are The Master, Mr. Byrne. Thank you for sharing your many gifts.

Wow, it's a real thrill to see Scott without his visor and with normal eyes.

Big 2001 vibes on that first panel! It's so cool to see Scott's full face and eyes, and how he immediately starts trying to figure out the situation.

It's great to see how Scott's powers might have worked if he had complete control of them. And so strange to see his whole face with eyes wide open.
Thanks again JB, it's a pleasure to read this every weekday.

Is that 4-point perspective on a round room with baroque décor? Now you're just showing off.

It's so good to see character faces that we normally have covered at least a little. The big one is Spider-Man of course, but there are a lot of faces we just don't see - unless a master draws them. That includes Ben Grimm and that includes Scott Summers. It also includes Peter Rasputin and Bobby Drake, and danged if it ain't Mr. Byrne who does SUCH a great job on them!

Scott's current surroundings are definitely 'fairy tale' -esque, what with his prince-charming attire and the multiple 'princess & the pea' bed mattresses requiring steps to/from the floor - all beautifully rendered!

Well briefly we already saw Scott with no visor (although we don't know if also with normal eyes) in UXM #132 and after that for sure in UXM #150 (although UXM #150 could be considered non-canon in X-Men Elsewhen).
