My ex-wife had a severe cinderella disney princess castle in the sky fetish at times, it was, pardon the pun, a royal pain the arse. A failure to accept reality. Scott is gonna go insane trapped in a world created by brained damaged baby jean phoenix. He'd be better in the cornfield. Great story Thanks, Mr. Byrne!

Your architecture, in all your work, is gorgeous. ••• Thanks—tho it has not always been thus. Roger Slifer, in the early days (CHAMPIONS vintage) would chide me for what he called my “fake backgrounds”. And he was right! All too often what was happening behind the characters was reduced to ruled lines, barely more than the perspective grid. It took a while for me to follow Wally Wood’s rule for backgrounds, “Keep ‘em busy!”

That castle is astounding!
I hadn't noticed the "X" clasp on Scott's cloak yesterday. Nice touch.

I looked at that castle for a while thinking it was the full page before scrolling down and seeing the rest. Nice job!

Al Milgrom, during the time he was briefly my editor, pointed out that full page splashes and double page spreads, spectacular as they can sometimes be to look at, generally advance the story by only ONE panel. So most of the time, I like to have a little extra going on.

Love the little (X) securing the cape at Scott's neck. It's little touches like that… *sigh* Thank you for the joy that "Elsewhen" has brought... "See" you in April!

These last pages made me laugh a little like for the Red Dwarf where Lister is in some Jane Austin fantasy land... "trapped in a world he never made"! Still, can't help wanting to run around exploring that castle though... I feel the same about some big hotels even (like the Frontenac in Quebec City).

The perspective grid lines on the last page make it appear the castle is radiating light. Very cool page!

D'Oh!! Looking upon that page again, I see that. Sorry. The lighter perspective grid lines intersecting some with the sunburst lines threw me off at first glance.

It's a truly beautiful page and a spectacular castle. If Doom could see it, he'd try to commandeer Jean's headspace!
