Just get better. That's the important thing.

Your eyes are forcing you to take a bit of a break - which can be nice. I know in the past when there were hiatuses (?) you were still pencilling consistenly. But even if you can't work on the pencilling, I bet you're still plotting ideas!

The irony here is that I’d already decided to take a month off from posting so I could build in a bit more lead time, and now my eyes are stretching that out but not letting me work!Gaaaaaahhhhhh!!!!!!

I’m trying not to think about it. Not quite the same thing!

Don’t you have any Walt-penciled issues in inventory for just such an occasion?

I hope that your eyes come out of all this better than ever.
Whenever you feel ready to continue, is fine with me. It's not like we are paying for this, and even if we were, health comes first.
Look like its time for a re-read of the existing issues -oh the pain :-)

I was rereading some of the early issue myself, and once again feeling the urge to change the first issue to a “0”. Created as it was to scratch an itch, it feels unconnected to what follows. Be a pain where I sit, tho, to renumber all the art threads AND the comments!

In my own mind (and I recognize it’s really only your mind that counts here) Phoenix: The Untold Story is issue zero, and it all flows from there.

When discussing possible publication with Marvel—before sanity returned to me—using that “untold tale” as a “0” issue was discussed.

I love that first issue as a "first issue". It feels correct as an adventure that quickly puts the team on the ground and leaves the entire "Fate of Phoenix" way in the rear-view mirror.
If that were issue #138, it would have reminded me of the earlier Byrne/Claremont stories that bounced so much more quickly from setting to setting.
In fact, that's what it does for me here.

138 was planned from the start to be all flashbacks, as seen. Only the setting ng—a walk in the woods instead of Jean’s funeral—was different. If ELSEWHEN 1 has an imaginary number (like XHY) it would be 139. Which means, as previously mentioned, we drifted by 150 without noticing.
