There once was a guy whose drawings were so well-liked that his drawings would sell for thousands and thousands of dollars apiece.

He would do it just for fun, but hey-- all the better if he could make a living!

He worked so hard and so long that, one day, he was able to draw what he wanted and just give it away to his fans.

Of course I'm speaking of that inimitable chap, that fellow of fellows, your pal and mine...

our own, James Cagney.*

--I mean John Byrne!!

Who knows what his new pair of eyes will help unleash? What new thrills? What daring feats of dazzling drawing? What new heights of hilarity?

Is anyone really prepared?

Stay tuned, true believers! (And make sure your ByrneRobotics dues are all paid up!)

Just wanted to wish Mr. Byrne well, and let him know there's this unfilled hole in the day that used to be filled with the beauty and wonder of ELSEWHEN. It's a big ask of anyone to produce a page of art & story a day---it has been very special. Many thanks.

Hi -just "checking in" as it were, and wishing Mr. Byrne the best, and a full speedy recovery.

Recovery seems to be done. All good.

Now I have to get back in the saddle. I've been working, but this "pause" has inspired me to pull out a lot of pages and redirect story lines. Which means I am not as far ahead as I hoped I would be,

Now that the recovery period is complete, how has your need for glasses changed, JB?

I was fitted for new long range glasses this week. Day to day, when I’m not driving, I can get along fine without glasses at all—which makes mask-wearing easier.

Glad to hear that recovery has progressed smoothly. That's really good news in a week that hasn't had much.
