I knew this was coming, but it’s still sad to take. I’m grateful that I got a chance to meet him and get a sketch of Barbara Gordon “Batgirl” from him a few years back. We did ailment comparisons as part of our conversation. I’ll miss him ( and so will my wife, who adored the New Teen Titans back at the time of their creation).

George's work on The New Teen Titans is what reeled me back into buying comics in junior high. This truly is a tough one to take.

Two of my favorite artists in a week... I'm really saddened.
Goodbye Mr Perez and thank you.

Terrible news - one of my all-time favourites ; he really had an appreciation of every character ever written, and the ability to make them all look great, no matter how old, obscure or goofy the source.
An absolute giant - we are privileged to have known his work.
RIP, George.

Such sad news. What a pleasure it was to meet him, such a lovely sweet bloke, and watch him sketching. RIP George.

A few years back, I was walking into the London Virgin Megastore comic shop just as George was walking out, Hawaiian shirt and all. I just had time to say 'Wow! Hi!' and got a friendly greeting in return. Our interaction lasted seconds but I still remember it fondly.
George and Neal, both gone within a few days of each other...
So sad.

Words could not express the huge delight George Perez' consistently excellent work brought to so many for so many years.
