How many people here live in neighborhoods where there are still houses with the most resplendent displays of pro-Trump, anti-media signs? It's such a new wrinkle in the American experience I honestly can't process it. Prior to 2016, my town was fairly quiet in that regard, but in 2023, we've got "The Media is the Enemy of the People", "Dems Lie, People Die", "Let's Go Brandon" and the rest on permanent install on front lawns, displayed on signs that are roughly the size of the side of a mid-sized moving truck.
I don't know what to make of it, but it makes me uneasy/annoyed enough that there are times I'll take an alternate route just to avoid having to look at any of them.

One mom of my stepson's friends has a Trump/Desantis 2024 sign on her door, and this is in NJ.

Sounds alot like 2020... so how many here think the election was rigged?? I still remember how many people swore Trumf would get a second term.

To avoid these sorts of 'problems' in future perhaps the Republicans would like to write a new law that overrides all others, that if someone happens to be like really really popular, perhaps set a figure of a few million on-line 'followers', they can do all manner of things that for others would be serious crimes, like overthrow the electoral system an play loose with top-secret national defense info. I'm sure had Bill Clinton been just like super popular, more popular than anybody in the history of popularity ever, then they would not have impeached him for his, er, stupid private affair that effected almost nobody... just for example. Or perhaps simply have it apply to Republicans only.

I live just outside of Milwaukee, and when I take a drive in the country - a radius of say 30 miles either way - all you see are Trump signs, and a fair amount of F Joe Biden signs too.

The country has lost its way. I'm hopeful someday we look back and say remember when...? and those who had these signs, flags on their trucks, etc. are too embarrassed to mention their participation in an angry cult.

It just amazes me that they are allowed to display "Fuck Biden" items openly in public. I've seen people with flags that say that flying from their house or on a pole, and even one on a pole on the back of someone's pickup. The Lets Go Brandon crap is bad enough.
One particular moron in a pickup with Florida plates had a sticker that said "Fuck Biden. And fuck you if you voted for him." on the back of his tailgate. I hope that asshole has since left the state and doesn't return any time soon.
You see a lot of pro-Trump and anti-Biden crap around here, but only a smattering of pro-Biden. Then again, I still see a few cars with Bernie 2020 on them....
And I personally know more people who can't stand Trump than those who love him.

Allowed to display? You want the government to tell us what kind of political signs we can, or can't, put up? That works great if they party you want is in power, but what happens when the other party takes power and they tell you "get that sign down or get a stiff fine, or go to jail"?

If HOAs and historical associations can dictate what you can and can't do on your property to meet 'community standards,' wouldn't large, permanent and potentially offensive signage fall under that purview? This is more of a devil's advocate stance on my part - I feel people do have the right to free speech, even as that free speech is distasteful to me. Counter to that, this stuff is blatantly intended to offend, of course - all this shit is 100% in a 'pwn the libs' kind of attitude.
