I love how JB handles the Beast.

Great detail with Scott's dialogue, too. Assuming that energy beam is what it looks like, Scott is in a unique position to be able to tell the powers are being amplified.

It was right about here that I realized there was not much point in being subtle! All this months before any of you saw these pages, of course!

It is rather fun to go back and check out the previously used effects for various character's powers and compare them to see who is inside the tin can. =)

Lorna's magnetic wave effect was my clue on the splash page.

How strong is Beast? A bit stronger than Spider-Man I'd think, but a loooooong way from Colossus...

Yeah JB's Beast seems more, I guess flexible and fluent in motion than others I've seen.

That fourth panel on the last page, tho small, is the epitome of perfection!

Problems seen with artists trying to draw the Beast—or, indeed, any characters—seem far too many times to spring from the shift to emphasis, as I’ve described it, on the singer not the song.

Today's page is wonderful! Cap!!! And knowing I sound like a broken record, I cannot imagine these pages being inked.

Nor can I, really. And, I will confess, as I have moved deeper into this "project", I have given less and less consideration to the inks. It's all about the pencils.

 QUOTE:
How strong is Beast?

I always go back to the beginning for questions like this. Lee-Kirby had Hank confront a huge, charging, fangs-bared gorilla and... toss him about on his tootsies like nothing!

How strong is the Beast? At least strong enough to make a monkey out of a gorilla! He's no pushover, that's for sure.

Ah jeez, I hope Peter didn't just tear someone's real arm off. This story!
