Can we imagine a world where convenience stores carry comic books again and, on the covers of those books, we find superheroes punching Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong-Un in their faces?

Reminds me again of when Rog and I were working on CAPTAIN AMERICA, and things got a little shaky in relations with the USSR. “Should we,” I wondered, “think about bringing back Captain America—Commie Smasher?”

The montage double-splash really is so much FUN.

JB's Avengers looked so right, like this was the way they were always supposed to look. Almost makes me wish he had been a given project to go back and re-tell their first twenty issues or so.

Urgh! Some of my personal least favorite assignments are “retellings”. Almost inevitably they dissolve into panel after panel of trying to find a different angle on a scene, when the original artist probably picked the best one.
