I would have enjoyed seeing JB take on one of those issues.

I agree, Wallace - remembering JB's piece of Power Man and
Iron Fist in the style of MAD's Don Martin, we know he can
adapt to other styles very well!

I did a Mouse cover years ago. That ticked that box on my bucket list.

"Walt does a sweet Donald Duck!"

--

What amazes me about it is that he drew Donald's face completely on-model, and yet, there's something in the line shapes he's using and composition that stil screams "Simonson" to me. I've seen several other Disney Duck pieces by him online and it's the same thing. I don't know how he does it.

Well, share the wealth! I specifically remember seeing your cover featuring all of the Popeye gang that has the same level of brilliance.

I would have loved to have seen the Mouse cover that you drew, unaltered!

Here's JB's cover from IDW's Popeye #5 (also snapped up the cover in B&W) free of logos, etc.

I noticed one cover refers to Goofy as a “hound”. Somewhat in contrast to Disney’s longtime official position that Mickey’s pal was NOT a dog. “He’s just a goof!”
