The lettering is a font, the balloons and captions I add with Photoshop.

JB, you sometimes have a person's speech or thoughts start at the bottom right of one page, and conclude as a caption in the upper left of the following page. (I believe I first really started taking note of it in JBNM.) I've found it to be an effective transition between scenes. Is there a particular term to describe this comic book literary device?

Transitional or bridging dialog, I call it.

The "open" drawing of Gladiator reentering the planet's atmosphere is the standout panel on today's page for me.

Is that a custom font, JB? I know you had used a font based on Jack Morelli's lettering. Is this font based on another letterer's style?

Thanks!

Derek—it’s a font that came bundled with my iMac. Also used it on NEW VISIONS.

Nice to see the Gladiator again! I assumed you were done
with him and the Shi'ar after Dark Phoenix disappeared.

I've been trying to soak these in a few issues at a
time so I have yet to read the last few. Only
looking at the art. But I have to say seeing the
Asparagus people again just makes 9 year old Paul
so happy.

In looking back at comments, I saw JB mention he is up to issue 20. Can wait to see the double sized issue 25!
(please please)

But Mr Byrne had better start talking to his peers in order to have the 25-50 variant covers done in time for that issue! Bwahhaha
