I love when they all speak as contemporaries. It makes the shared "Marvel Universe" seem more real to me for some reason.

One of the curious things Stan did was to have Captain America speak as a kind of Elder Statesman, calling people “son” and the like. Given that he was physically in his twenties, with a like amount of life experience, it struck me as somewhat patronizing.

That would be appropriate for conversations with the (second) Human Torch or Spider-Man, but Iron Man or Thor... Not so much.

A rare occasion where I actually WANT you to look at a group and notice who isn’t there!

Excellent splash page and an excellent Cyclops. That left hand is so well drawn. And the visor -- wasn't that keen initially on the switch, but I have to admit, this version probably is better. Hope he manages to clinging on to that mini-cerebro; those things aren't cheap!

This lovely splash has a strong sense of Dave Cockrum composition. Or maybe I'm just associating it with his "Sentinels in Space" cover. Either way, I'm helpless to resist.
How can it seem so easy to pull off this amazing return to the fun, fantasy and feel of this old series? Outstanding!

I especially liked Cyclops calling Wolverine "That idiot" -- so apropos.
