As it turns out, I don't have to skip a week. . .

That's good news!
And another good news: the Martin family is back!

It's like you've been reading my mind. I was thinking about Ashley last week. Plus this weekend the thought hit me to ask how many year(s) you felt passed between the end of X:HY and ELSEWHEN. Given Ashley's appearance here, it's the perfect time to ask. I'm guessing.....3?

Three sounds about right--tho this would be the usual nebulous comicbook time. I see her as being nearly contemporary to Kitty. She also has powers, of course, very similar to Pablo's. (No, I haven't forgotten him! Stay tuned!)

I'm wondering how those sentinels would fare against Willy...

Quite an unexpected start to Issue #7 and that isn't a bad thing. I would never have thought of seeing Ashley Martin in Elsewhen. She is one of very few characters that JB contributed to the X-Men that remained untouched by other writers all this time.

Well -this was a pleasant surprise. Wasn't expecting anything new, but I got in the habit of checking every weekday...
Did you draw all the pages you had originally planned to add, or were there less needed than you thought? If the former, holy cow that's some fast work!

Ashley's back!
Coincidentally, I've been re-reading Hidden Years (I'm up to issue #12), so I just read the story she and her mom were introduced in!

Ashley and her mom are back. I was hoping they would return... You Sentinels better not hurt Ashley's mom. Who know what Xavier would do it that happens?

If the former, holy cow that's some fast work!•• To forestall any cries that these pages look "rushed", I'll mention that they actually slid out of the pencil somewhat more slowly than the rest, probably because I had doubled back on myself, to expand the Magneto story, and so broken the "flow". Now I have "caught up", so after a few "introductory" pages, this issue will be back to those which were drawn months ago.

If anyone criticizes the Elsewhen pages as looking "rushed," they are blind! The detail in each page is great!

“Rushed” became a go-to choice for describing my work several decades ago. It happened when DC screwed up the release dates, and several of my projects, all in the pipeline for months, got dumped into the marketplace all at once. Minibrains who have no idea of production schedules and assume work is produced right before they see it, immediately declared the work “rushed”—obviously I had taken on too much and it showed. (One of the jobs was OMAC. I invite anyone to tell me what looks “rushed” there.)Typically, once the word was in circulation, it stayed, whether accurate or not.
